Young Park detention pond has been completed, including resodding.

The Young Park Detention Pond has been completed.

Sober Brothers, Inc., of Ponca City completed the $187,790 project this month, about two months after the contract was awarded by the Ponca City Utility Authority Board of Trustees.

Construction of the detention pond was funded by the city’s stormwater utility fee. This pond was created to reduce the amount of flooding downstream and will tie in with other drainage work that flows to a ditch behind RCB Bank at Highland Avenue and Fourteenth Street

The park has been resodded after the drainage work was completed and will continue to be used as a neighborhood park.
