Winners Announced in PCPD Contest to Name Police Dog

PCPD Coloring Dog Contest 2024

Introducing K9 Max! Straight from the imaginative minds of Bonnie from McCord Elementary, Isabella, and Mitina from Lincoln Elementary a name has been chosen! The Ponca City Police Department held a contest for all second and third graders attending PCPS to name the newest addition.
Cpl. Hopkins looked through over 2,000 coloring entry’s from 2nd and 3rd graders from all over Ponca City, and chose Max for Ponca City’s newest officer.
Let’s give a round of applause to these young artists and a warm welcome to K9 Max, a Short Haired German Pointer, who’s ready to serve and protect our community and become the ultimate crime-fighting companion, trained in Illegal Drug Detection and Human Tracking.

K9 Max is pictured with the talented girls alongside his Handler Cpl. JT Hopkins, Ponca City Superintendent Adam Leaming, McCord Superintendent Brandie Chaote, and Chuck and Suzie Greenwood of Greenwood Aerospace.
