PCPS Heather Cannon Wildcat of the Week-
The Heather Cannon Wildcat of the Week #11 for the 2021-2022 school year was presented to Po-Hi senior Promyce Rowland.
Superintendent Shelley Arrott said, “Promyce is a very involved Wildcat; she is a member of the 2022 Cat Tale yearbook staff, National Honor Society, and YoungLife, and she is the bailiff of the Po-Hi Youth Traffic Court. She makes her schoolwork a priority and makes excellent grades while she balances all of her activities. Promyce loves being on the Cat Tale staff, and ANY free time she has, she works on making the Cat Tale awesome! What stands out about Promyce is that she seems to know everyone’s name! Mrs. Smith, the yearbook advisor, said that Promyce is an excellent resource for the yearbook staff. If a Cat Tale staff member does not recognize someone in a picture, everyone says, “Ask Promyce; she’ll know!” In fact, all of Promyce’s teachers I spoke with mentioned her friendliness and the fact that she knows everyone is very unique! All of her teachers said she is kind, respectful, always willing to help, multi-tasks very well, and brightens every room with her vivacious personality. She goes “all in” with everything she does and is a true leader at Po-Hi who demonstrates exemplary work ethic, teamwork and attitude!”
“Promyce, I understood all your teachers’ comments once I met you! You are literally one of the friendliest Wildcats I have ever met! When you walked into Mrs. Smith’s classroom, your vibrant personality commanded the room. It was not even your classroom and you greeted the entire class with “Hey, guys!”, and everyone responded, “Hey, Promyce!” While I was sharing why everyone thought you should be Wildcat of the Week, your friendly banter just made my day, and I found myself just wanting to converse with you! Your teachers all remarked about what a fun, hard-working social butterfly you are, and it’s just so TRUE. I felt like I had known you forever when I met you, and I found I just wanted to continue conversing with you. As the bailiff of the PO-HI Youth Traffic Court, I bet you chit-chat with the offender and make them feel right at ease when you escort them into court! The way you interact with others is so inspiring and much needed. You make everyone feel like they belong and are important to you! This skill is not easy for everyone, and your exuberant personality and attitude are much needed in today’s world after the trying times we have all experienced. Promyce, you are the type of person people are drawn to; you are a natural extrovert, a real people person. You could brighten anyone’s day, and I so appreciate you making everyone feel like they are special!”
“You also said you are going to the University of Oklahoma upon graduation and hope to become a dental hygienist. You will be a great employee for anyone and will do well as a dental hygienist. You will calm everyone’s nerves and make any office a happier place. You are just one of those people everyone wants to be around, and your humor and wit are refreshing. This personality of yours, coupled with your strong work ethic and leadership will serve you well your entire life. I know great things are in your future!”
