Wildcat of the Week-PCPS-
The Heather Cannon Wildcat for Week #8 for the 2021-2022 school year was presented to Po-Hi senior Dakotah Krol.
Superintendent Shelley Arrott said, “Dakotah is a quintessential example of what it means to be good to people, treat them with respect and to serve others. Dakotah is a member of the Wildcat baseball team, has a tough course schedule and puts forth great effort and work ethic to be the best student and player he can be. However, what really sets Dakotah apart from many is the way he helps and treats others. All of Dakotah’s teachers and coaches said he is kindhearted, caring, respectful to both teachers and classmates, and he goes out of his way to help others. When he is not demonstrating these wonderful traits at school or practice, Dakotah is out serving the community. He has given his free time to help coach a youth softball team for the last three years. As an assistant coach to the youth softball team, I hear he brings excitement, encouragement and pushes these young ladies to compete. In addition, Dakotah helps with his GLT at his church, Ponca City Assembly. GLT is the Generation, Love and Truth program for grades first through fifth at PCA. I have some friends who attend PCA and they all say he is amazing with the youth group and the kids love him. Additionally, Dakotah attended Boys State last summer. Everyone at school knows if you see Dakotah, he will have a smile to share with everyone.”
“Dakotah, when Team Radio sent me your nomination and I began asking your teachers about you, the first thing I thought of when I started hearing how good you are with kids is that you would be a natural in the classroom! Every great teacher has to be able to build positive relationships with students before any learning occurs, and that just does not come naturally to some people. When I shared that you have the innate talent it takes to be a great teacher, I was really thrilled to hear you tell me your future plans! I am so excited you are going to Southeastern Oklahoma State University, not only because it is my alma mater, but because you are going to major in physical education and you plan to become a teacher and a coach! I knew you had what it takes to be a natural in the classroom! I am proud of you for using your strengths to help determine your career goals. Obviously, we want you to return to PCPS to teach and coach, and do not think for a minute that I will not be keeping up with your graduation date! Dakotah, it was an honor to present you with the Wildcat of the Week Award. You are a wonderful reminder of what is good in the world! I am so proud you are a Wildcat! You represent us with pure class, and we are ALL so proud of you!”
