Wildcat Jazz Band Attends Contest, Will Perform Along With Steel Drum Band and Others on April 30 at Smith Home Furnishings Fundraiser

The Wildcat Jazz Band of Ponca City High School performed at the OSSAA State Jazz Band Contest at Oklahoma Christian University on Wednesday.
As a culmination of all the hard work students have dedicated in preparation for the contest, the Jazz Band’s performance was charismatic and full of energy.
Jazz Band Director Connor Pratt said, “I am extremely proud of how dedicated the Jazz Band students have been this year.”
Student teacher Joshua Chrisman and Assistant Orchestra Director Ella Gordon also helped the Jazz Band at contest.
The Jazz Band received a rating of excellent.
On Saturday, April 30th, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Smith Home Furnishings, 2500 North 14th, will have a fundraiser benefitting the Band and Orchestra programs at Ponca City Public Schools.
Ten percent of sales for the day will donated to these programs.
From 10:00 am to noon the Steel Drum Band from Po-Hi will perform, various performances take place from noon to 3:00pm and the Po-Hi Jazz Band will have their final performance of the school year from 3 to 5 p.m.
From 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm get to know the musicians and their directors at a meet and greet.
