OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality is advising residents in Hitchcock to boil water before consuming it after E. coli was found in the water system.

DEQ says it’s notifying Hitchcock Development Public Water Supply in Blaine County to inform residents that they should boil water or use bottled water for consumption, food preparation, brushing teeth and washing dishes.

The agency says residents will be notified when the water is safe for human consumption.
