The Washington Prekindergarten Center recently hosted their first monthly Parent Cafe. The purpose of this new event is to show appreciation to families who are supporting their children’s education by making sure they get they get to school on time every day.

Prekindergarten parents were invited for “grab and go” coffee and pastries and were also entered to win one of two $25 Jiffy Trip gift cards.

Prekindergarten Principal Tina Fisher said, “I was so excited because we served around 50 people before running out of coffee and food! We will definitely plan for more next time. Parents were very appreciative and were especially excited about the gas card give away.

“I would like to thank our PIE Partners, staff members Jenn Pena and Heather Golay for their design and set up, and especially our Washington families for supporting their children’s education.”

The schools’ Partners In Education supported their efforts to improve student attendance with generous donations for the event. Kyler Construction Group donated the coffee urn and coffee, and Sterling Broadcasting (104.7 The Bull and Sunny 1230 AM) donated all of the pastries. MJ&H Fabrication donated the two Jiffy Trip gift cards.

Winners of the gas cards were parents Nicole Nichols and Dellinta Abon. The next Parent Cafe is scheduled for Dec. 18.
