TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — The American Heartland theme Park announced Thursday that they will start breaking ground this month for phase one on Oct. 30.
After a city council vote 7-1, the land was approved for both the theme park and the RV park and campground.
“Construction that will be starting soon is for phase one of the development, Three Ponies RV Park and Campground. The City of Vinita last night approved the annexation of the land for both the RV park and the theme park.” American Heartland Senior Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Kristy Adams said.
American Heartland brings a designer portfolio that has worked with theme parks like Six Flags, Disney Parks, and Universal Studios.
Those behind the project believe the park will be as big as Disney, if not bigger.
It’s being compared to parks like Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, they also expect the park to bring in 4.9 million guests per year, which is more than Oklahoma’s population.
