Vian man injured in I-35 accident

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports an injury collision occurred about 5:05 a.m. Friday on Interstate 35, a half  mile south of Mulhall Road in Payne County.

Jesus Salazar, 27, of Vian, Oklahoma, was  transported by LifeNet EMS to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he was dmitted in stable condition with whole body injuries.

He was driving a 2013 Chevy truck northbound on I-35 when he fell asleep and departed roadway to the left. The Highway Patrol said he overcorrected, and  the truck departed the roadway to the right and rolled 4.5 times, coming to rest on its top. Salazar was pinned for approximately 45 minutes and extricated by Stillwater Fire Department, the Patrol said.
