US MARSHALS ARREST TEEN, SUSPECT QUESTIONED ABOUT STRING OF SW OKC HOMICIDES

The U.S. Marshals Service arrested a metro teenager accused in a string of deadly shootings and running a gang at a southwest Oklahoma City housing complex.

Investigators took 18-year-old Doneto Patrick Junior in for questioning on Tuesday about a string of deadly shootings at the Will Rogers Courts. Patrick was arrested in Midwest City.

Witnesses told police the murder suspect was part of a gang that had been terrorizing residents at the housing complex near Southwest 15th Street and Westwood Boulevard.

According to court documents, witnesses were too afraid to report Patrick, also known as “Psycho”, to be allegedly behind a deadly shooting last week and possibly other violent crimes in their neighborhood.

“We want to do everything we can to stop the violence over there because that’s three homicides in six days,” said Msgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department.

Patrick was arrested in connection to the May 22 murder of Anthony Hines. The arrest warrant stated Hines was at a relative’s graduation party when Patrick and four others showed up last Wednesday. Witnesses told investigators Hines got into an argument with one of the uninvited guests when the shooting started. Hines was fatally shot as he ran out of the home.

“As it turns out there have been two more shootings in that area,” said Knight. “One at the same address and one about a block away.”

The deadly shootings happened on Sunday and were five hours apart. Police identified the first victim as 43-year-old April Coppock, they have not released the name of the other victim. Investigators are connecting the dots to determine if Patrick or someone in his gang was involved in the weekend homicides.

“We’re interviewing him at this point and see where the evidence points us and where the interviews go,” said Knight.

Police said one of the witnesses to the first deadly shooting identified Patrick from a photo lineup. Police have not arrested anyone or named a suspect in connection to the two-weekend homicides.
