Ponca City Now - June 7, 2019 12:16 pm

UPDATE FROM JOSH FIELDS: The water is being turned on as we speak!!! Please be patient it will take lots of time for system to fill up and pressure to come back (days) Thank you to City of Ponca City, Sober Brothers, Herc Equipment, Osage Casino, J&J Trenching, Mike Vap, Bill Klienman, and Sam Smith (for lunch) for all the hard work getting the water turned on to McCord area. This was a big task and couldn’t have been done without all involved.

The dewatering of  the soil around the water line break in McCord is working, according to Josh Fields, one of the men working to restore water to McCord Rural Water District #3.

“We have gotten to the pipe in one hole,” he wrote in a Facebook update. “We are definitely heading in the right direction, but it is taking lots of time. No I don’t have a time of when water will be on yet.”

The McCord Rural Water District #3 has asked residents who have outside frost free hydrants to turn them on to help let the air out when the water comes back on. The district is hopeful water will come back Friday afternoon.

Also be aware when the water comes back on, the further you live away from town the longer it will take for you to get water. Water towers have to fill for pressure, and that might take a couple of days.
