Two teens injured in ATV accident near Newkirk

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol continues its investigation into an accident that occurred Saturday on the Arkansas River near State Line Road northeast of Newkirk.

The accident occurred about 4:30 p.m. Saturday but was not reported until 11:38 p.m. Two juveniles, a 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl, both of Newkirk, were riding a 2003 Honda EX 300 ATV, the Patrol reports.

The boy was treated and released with trunk internal injuries.

The girl was transported by private vehicle at 8 p.m. by other juveniles to the Newkirk Fire Department, then transported by ambulance to Alliance Health in Ponca City. She was then transferred by AirEvac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City in stable condition with head and trunk internal injuries.
