Two Ponca City Residents Injured in Auto Accident on Hubbard Road on Friday

Ponca City-

A personal injury collision occurred Friday December 31st at approximately 1:07 pm at the  intersection of East Hubbard Rd and North Union St, 39 feet north of Ponca City in Kay County.

A 2014 Ram 2500 Pickup driven by Lester Brochmann, 86, of Ponca City was northbound on Union Street and a 1983 Ford Pickup driven by Spenser Barnes, 23, of Ponca City was westbound on Hubbard Rd. Brochamann failed to yield from a stop sign and crossed in front of Barnes vehicle and was struck in the passenger side causing him to lose control and strike a utility pole ejecting him from his vehicle. Brochmann was transported by Ponca City ambulance to the helipad at Alliance Health and transferred by Air-Evac to ST Francis in Tulsa where he was  admitted in stable condition with trunk internal, and head injury’s.

Barnes was transported by Ponca City EMS to Alliance Health in Ponca City and transferred by Air-Med to ST Anthony’s in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in stable condition with head and leg injuries.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Chris Vaughan K832 of the Troop K Kay/Noble County Detachment. Assisted by Trooper Coby Snyder K271 of the Troop K Kay/Noble County Detachment, and LT Kirby Logan S62 of Troop S.  Also assisted by Kay County Sheriff’s Office, Ponca City PD and Ponca City FD.
