Senate confirms Ponca City residents to University Center Board of Trustees
OKLAHOMA CITY – The Senate confirmed more than 30 executive nominations to Oklahoma boards and commissions Wednesday. Sen. Bill Coleman carried the nominations of Ponca City residents Kelly Campbell, O.D., and Stephen Scott to the Board of Trustees of the University Center at Ponca City.
“These two outstanding Oklahomans will be a tremendous asset to the University Center Board of Trustees with their unique talents and expertise,” said Coleman, R-Ponca City. “The University Center has been such a blessing to our part of the state since 1999 providing traditional and nontraditional students the opportunity to further their education and improve their lives. I want to thank Kelly and Stephen for their willingness to serve on this board and help continue the strong legacy of the University Center for years to come.”
Campbell, an optometrist at Family Vision Care, will serve a nine-year term ending June 30, 2029, succeeding Charles P. Greenwood.
Scott, a Senior Technical Security Engineer for the National Nuclear Security Administration / NFO, will serve an unexpired term ending June 30, 2022, succeeding Patricia Hullet.
The University Center is a unique higher education consortium serving rural Oklahoma by providing coursework and degrees from various Oklahoma colleges and universities. More than half of the students are working adults trying to finish their degree or start one while maintaining their careers. The University Center provides both day and evening classes to allow flexibility for working adults.
