An elderly man and woman died almost two weeks after they were injured in a crash on a Noble County highway, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.

Gordon Sampson, 87, was pronounced dead at an Oklahoma City hospital at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, according to an OHP report. Ilene Sampson, 82, was pronounced dead about two hours later.

The report states Gordon Sampson was driving eastbound on U.S. 412 about 7 miles north of Perry when he departed the right side of the roadway due to congestion on the morning of May 14. His minivan then struck the trailer of a semi that was stopped at a stop sign at a county road.

Gordon Sampson was flown to the hospital in Oklahoma City in serious condition, while Ilene Sampson was flown to the same hospital in critical condition.

The semi driver was not injured.
