Two Arkansas City Women Charged with Drug Possession

Dorman, McHargue accused of marijuana, methamphetamine possession

ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (August 19, 2020) The Arkansas City Police Department arrested two women from the Arkansas City area on Tuesday on suspicion of multiple drug possession charges.

Sheree Denise Dorman, 50, of Arkansas City, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail in Winfield in lieu of $6,000 bond through Cowley County District Court in Arkansas City.

Amber Meleise McHargue, 33, of rural Arkansas City, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine, as well as one misdemeanor count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

She was transported to and booked into the county jail in lieu of $7,000 bond through Arkansas City district court. Both Dorman and McHargue remained in custody at the time of this release.

Officers on Tuesday learned of possible drug activity at a residence located at 721 North C St.

Police obtained and executed a search warrant at the home. While conducting the search, they found items suspected to be illegal substances, as well as items associated with their use as drugs.

A defendant’s guilt or innocence is to be determined by a court of law.
