TSA ANNOUNCES CHANGES AT WILL ROGERS WORLD AIRPORT FOLLOWING EDMOND MAN’S ARREST IN TURKS AND CAICOS

The Transportation Security Administration is making changes to security at Will Rogers World Airport after an Edmond man was arrested in Turks and Caicos.

Ryan Watson faces 12 years in a Turks and Caicos prison after officials found four rounds of hunting ammo in his carry-on. The ammunition was able to make it through TSA screening at Will Rogers World Airport, and was only found when Watson attempted to return home.

Watson is one of five Americans held on similar charges on the island nation, which is causing growing concern in the US.

“Unfortunately this is tearing families a part right now,” Watson said. “I’ve got two kids at home… their little hearts don’t understand what’s going on.”

Now, officers will be trained on how to catch those items, and failure to do so could result in them being placed on administrative leave or fired.
