Trucker injured in Grant County accident

A truck driver from West Orange, N.J., was injured in an accident shortly after midnight Tuesday about 4.5 miles west of Deer Creek in Grant County.

James W. Dorcely, 32, was driving a 2015 Freightliner eastbound on State Highway 11 when it departed the roadway to the right. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Dorcely overcorrected and the trailer came around the cab before entering the ditch and rolling 1/4 time. The truck struck a utility pole and came to rest facing westbound.

The patrol said Dorcely was pinned for about an hour before he was freed by the Deer Creek Fire Department. He was transported by Medford EMS to Integris Blackwell Regional Hospital and then transported by Blackwell EMS to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was admtted in stable condition with arm injuries, the patrol reported.
