Triple fatality collision in Payne County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that a fatality collision occurred at about 3:56 a.m. Sunday on Western Road, about 50 feet south of SH 33, which is about 1 mile north and 3 miles east of Perkins, OK in Payne County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2019 Buick Encore driven by Fidel Simpson, 25, of Guthrie, OK. Simpson expired at the scene due to massive injuries.

Two passengers in Simpson’s vehicle, Barkley Simpson, 26, and Dariahawn Simpson, 21, both of Guthrie, OK also expired at the scene due to massive injuries.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated that Simpson’s vehicle was southbound on Western Road. The vehicle continued across SH 33 and struck the ditch. The vehicle then went airborne and struck a tree. Seatbelts were equipped, but were only in use by the driver. The condition of the driver and cause of the collision are still under investigation.

Investigated by Trooper Martens #691 of the Noble/Payne County Detachment of Troop K. Assisted by Payne County Sheriff Office, Perkins Fire Department, Perkins Police Department, and Lifenet EMS.
