Transportation crews working on slick spots

Ponca City Now - January 14, 2015 7:50 am

Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews in Cimarron County in the Oklahoma Panhandle and Beckham County in western Oklahoma are applying sand and salt to slick spots and reporting areas of light snow and light rain.

Cimarron County crews are plowing snow accumulations on US-287 north of Boise City.

ODOT Maintenance staff throughout the state continue to monitor conditions and remain on standby.

Drivers are urged to use caution, especially on bridges and overpasses through the early morning hours as forecasted areas of precipitation and freezing temperatures may cause slick spots to develop.

If drivers are traveling out of state, they are urged to check area road conditions before heading out.
