Traffic Signal Upgrades Begin Monday in Ponca City

The City of Ponca City Traffic Engineering Division is in the process of upgrading traffic signal infrastructure at all signalized intersections.
This will be a multi-year effort with six to eight intersections being upgraded each year.
The first phase of this project will begin on Monday, September 30, 2024.
Traffic and Lighting Systems of Oklahoma City will begin replacing the cabinets and controllers at eight intersections on that date. While the new equipment is being installed the intersections will operate under four-way stop control. The changeout for each individual intersection will take one to two days.
The intersections that will be upgraded under this phase of work are:
• Prospect Avenue & Union Street
• 14th Street & Prospect Avenue
• Ash Street & Hartford Avenue
• Hartford Avenue & Union Street
• 5th Street & Hartford Avenue
• 5th Street & Highland Avenue
• 14th Street & Highland Avenue
• 14th Street & Grand Avenue
Only one intersection will be under construction at a time.
