Town Hall meeting Thursday on possible teacher walkout

Ponca City Now - March 27, 2018 4:13 pm

A Town Hall meeting, led by the Oklahoma Education Association, is set for 6 p.m. Thursday at West Middle school to provide information, resources and answers to questions on a possible teacher walkout starting Monday, April 2.

Teachers intend to walk out on April 2 if the Oklahoma Legislature does not meet their demands by Sunday.

Ponca City’s local Association of Classroom Teachers organization has been in constant communication with community partners and other resources to ensure parents have support with childcare and meals during the impending work stoppage.

The district has posted a letter from Superintendent Shelley Arrott, along with guidelines for parents and  employees at www.pcps.us. The information also went out before spring break on the district mobile app.
