ARKANSAS CITY, Kansas — A tornado touched ground near Highway 166 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Rain and hail traveled through parts of the area. Hail damage was reported 7 miles east and northeast of the town.

Power poles along the highway were down 2 miles northwest of the area, which left 300 to 400 residents without power. Crews worked to get the power back shortly after power poles were struck.
