Save the date, the Ponca City Father-Daughter Dance is scheduled for Feb.1 .

The dance is for girls 13 and under.

Brook Lindsay, a Father-Daughter Dance committee member said this is a popular event, so they have to have different sessions.

“The first session will be from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m., and the suggested ages for that are kindergarten and below,"Lindsay said. "The second session is 5:30 to 7, the suggested ages on that is first through third grade. And the third session is from 8 to 9:30 and that’s fourth through seventh grade.”

These are just suggestion.

Couples can attend any sessions, but the dances and music will be geared toward the specified age group.

Proceeds from the dance benefit the Opportunity Center.

The Opportunity Center provides facilities and services for people with developmental disabilities in Kay county.

Tickets are on sale at the Opportunity Center’s store, Whimsy, starting today until they are gone.

“Tickets are $25 a couple, per session, and then $10 for tickets for additional daughters to that same session,” Lindsay said.

Additional tickets for adults are $15.

Of course girls can chose to bring grandfathers, brothers or family friends.

Whimsy is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Lindsay warns that these tickets go fast.
