A 62-year-old Ponca City woman was transported by Ponca City EMS to AllianceHealth Ponca City Hospital and then to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City after an accident Thursday.

The accident occurred at 3:10 p.m. on U.S. 77 at State Highway 11 West, 4 miles north of Ponca City.

Judith Denise Van Duzor was driving a 2008 Volkswagen eastbound on SH11 and attempted a left-hand turn onto U.S. 77 northbound.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said she failed to stop for a stop sign before turning into the path of a 2015 Cadillac driven by Shannon Renae Somers, 30, of Ponca City.

Somers was transported by Ponca City EMS to AllianceHealth Ponca City Hospital where she was treated and released with trunk and arm injuries. A 13-year-old girl in Somers’ car also was transported and treated for trunk injuries and released.
