ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. Three people were arrested Monday by the Arkansas City Police Department in connection with a commercial burglary in north Arkansas City.

Christopher Allen Guidry, 32, of Newkirk, was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail in Winfield in lieu of $5,000 bond through Cowley County District Court in Arkansas City. Guidry since has posted bond and been released.

Amy Lynn Williams, 36, of Arkansas City, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, criminal damage to property and theft. She was transported to and booked into the county jail in lieu of $7,000 bond through Arkansas City district court.

Joel Guy Williams, 35, also of Arkansas City, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, criminal damage to property, possession of drug-use paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine and theft.

Joel Williams was transported to and booked into the county jail in lieu of $13,000 bond through Arkansas City district court. He also was arrested on an Arkansas City district court warrant for probation violation, with no bond on that warrant. Both Williamses remained in custody at the time of this release.

Officers were dispatched Aug. 1 to the 3400 block of North Summit Street for a commercial burglary.

They contacted the owners of CC Liquor LLC, 3403 N. Summit St., and learned the store had been burglarized sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.

The only items taken were cash bags and the drawers to the cash registers, totaling about $800.

Officers did not find any signs of forced entry into the building. Based on that information, they developed Amy Williams as a possible suspect.

A search warrant was executed on Williams’ vehicle, turning up evidence of the burglary, as well as drugs and drug-use paraphernalia. She was arrested and taken to jail at that time.

Officers then located Guidry, who also was arrested and taken to the county jail.

The third suspect, Joel Williams, was located last and arrested in connection with the burglary. While he awaited transportation to jail, officers discovered drugs and drug-use paraphernalia belonging to him.
