Three Arkansas City residents arrested for methamphetamine

ARKANSAS CITY, Kansas — The Arkansas City Police Department arrested three Arkansas City residents Wednesday on suspicion of drug charges after executing a search warrant.
Branden Diane Eagan, 38, was arrested on suspicion of five felony counts of aggravated endangering a child by exposure to the distributing of methamphetamine and three felony counts of possession of opiates. She also was arrested on suspicion of two misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as one misdemeanor count of aiding and abetting a felony drug crime.
Eagan was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail in lieu of $27,500 bond through Cowley County District Court in Arkansas City. She remained in custody at the time of this release.
Claudia Jean Hutton, 43, was arrested on suspicion of two felony counts of aggravated endangering a child by exposure to the distributing of methamphetamine, as well as one felony count each of no drug tax stamp, possession of opiates and use of a communication facility to commit a felony drug violation.
She also was arrested on suspicion of two misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, one misdemeanor count of aiding and abetting a felony drug crime, and one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.
Hutton was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail in lieu of $60,000 bond through Arkansas City district court. She remained in custody at the time of this release.
Timothy Scott Massey, 46, was arrested on suspicion of four felony counts each of no drug tax stamp and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, two felony counts of aggravated endangering a child by exposure to the distributing of methamphetamine, and one felony count of use of a communication facility to commit a felony drug violation.
He also was arrested on suspicion of four misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.
Massey was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond through Arkansas City district court. He remained in custody at the time of this release.
For the past couple of months, the Cowley County Drug Task Force has been investigating possible methamphetamine dealers located at a residence at 413 S. Sixth St. in Arkansas City.
Arkansas City police executed a search warrant at that address at 12:04 p.m. Wednesday. After entering, they made contact with several adults and an 11-year-old Arkansas City girl.
Officers located more than 20 grams of a substance suspected to be methamphetamine, a green leafy substance thought to be marijuana, and several items of drug-sale and drug-use paraphernalia.
The 11-year-old girl was taken into police protective custody. Eagan, Hutton, and Massey all were arrested and taken into custody. A defendant’s guilt or innocence is to be determined by a court of law.
