Threatening post determined to be a repost from 2018

Ponca City Now - September 11, 2019 9:10 am

Ponca City Police Department has confirmed that the post that started the local worry and talk about a school shooting, is a re-post of a Snap Chat that was investigated in 2018 by the Enid Police Department.

Ponca City Police Captain Randy Tyner said officers determined the post to be no legitimate threat.

“We are trying to run down the origin of the re-post from last night,” Tyner said. “If we can develop enough information to charge anyone, we will. The safety of our students and staff in Ponca City is of the utmost importance to us, and we will take all threats seriously and investigate them fully.
