Texas man injured in accident near Tonkawa

A 42-year-old Texas man was injured in a collision on Interstate 35 about 2 miles south ot Tonkawa.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the accident happened at 12:43 a.m. Wednesday.

Jason Graham, 42, of Locknee, Texas, was transported by Air Evac to Wesley Hospital in Wichita, where he was admitted in guarded condition with head, trunk, arm and leg injuries.

Graham was driving a 2017 Kia which ran into the rear of a 2007 Freightliner, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported. The patrol said Graham was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed and his vehicle became lodged under the rear of the trailer.

Troopers said he was pinned for about 27 minutes before being freed by the Tonkawa Fire Department and the Blackwell Fire Department.

The truck was driven by Jonas Butler, 27, of Dallas. He was not injured, according to the Highway Patrol.
