OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Authorities say a 14-year-old teenage boy has drowned in a northeastern Oklahoma City creek.

Deputy Fire Chief Marc Woodard says the teen was found Sunday evening and pronounced dead soon after. He says authorities received a report that the teen had been swimming in the creek and had been underwater for about 10 minutes.

They have not released his name.

A city spokesperson tells KFOR-TV a family friend was watching the teen.

The state medical examiner will perform an autopsy.
