TEMPLE, Okla. (AP) – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says a teenager has been arrested for first-degree murder in the death of a 41-year-old woman in Cotton County.

OSBI says the Cotton County Sheriff’s Office asked agents to help investigate a suspicious death at a residence shortly after midnight Tuesday. Investigators say a teen living there had called 911 to report the house was on fire.

Firefighters from Temple pulled the body of 41-year-old Shannen Brown from the home. Trauma to her body indicated her death was a homicide not caused by the fire.

Investigators say they interviewed the teenager who reported the fire and arrested him for first-degree murder. The teen has not been formally charged.

Details about the suspect, including his age and relationship to the victim, were not made public.
