Ponca City Now - November 22, 2024 12:00 pm

PONCA CITY, Oklahoma – Bill Coleman & Darrel Dye, the owners of Team Radio Marketing Group, have entered into an agreement with Sterling Broadcasting, LLC to acquire Ponca City radio stations KQSN-FM (1047 The Bull) and WBBZ-AM (News Talk 1230). The sale is subject to FCC regulatory approval and is expected to close early in 2025.

Sterling, headed by Lyman & Zoe Bowling, has operated KQSN since 2010, and WBBZ since 2016, broadcasting from the historic WBBZ building on East Oklahoma Avenue.

Team Radio has a long and successful history in the market as long time owner of stations KPNC and KLOR, along with Triple Play Sports, based in Stillwater and serving much of North Central Oklahoma.

Lyman Bowling said, “As my wife and I prepare to spend more time with our family and move on to our next adventure, we’re thrilled to see our stations become a part of the Team Radio family.  Bill, Darrel, and their talented team are dedicated to excellent local radio and consistently deliver for their listeners, advertisers, and the communities they serve.  We’re leaving these stations in great hands.”

“What a great opportunity to take over these two stations from such a capable broadcaster such as Lyman. I am very excited about the future and look forward to continuing the tradition of locally-focused broadcasting on these two stations,” Bill Coleman stated.

Darrel Dye added, “We are excited to add KQSN and WBBZ to our group of radio stations and become part of the rich history of WBBZ in Ponca City. We look forward to joining forces and continuing to provide our listeners and advertisers with an array of top quality options for many years to come.”

Effective December 1, Team Radio Marketing Group will begin operating the stations under a time brokerage agreement until closing.
