TULSA, Oklahoma –

An Edison Middle School math teacher is in jail, accused of sex crimes with a child in Kansas.

Tulsa’s fugitive squad arrested Christin Covel on Tuesday.

Sources say she had an inappropriate relationship with a 13-year-old student in Sedgwick County, Kansas, which is where Wichita is located.

Edison’s principal says there aren’t any reports of inappropriate behavior from Covel during her time here.

The school district sent a letter Tuesday night making parents aware that Covel had been arrested.

The school says it is looking for substitutes to cover Covel’s classes.
