Taglialatela Named New Po-Hi Principal

Sean Taglialatela has been named the new Po-Hi Principal, pending approval from the Ponca City Board of Education. He will replace Shane Dent, who will be leaving the district at the end of the school year.

“We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Sean Taglialatela as the new Ponca City High School Principal,” said PCPS Superintendent Adam Leaming. “Tag’s extensive experience in educational leadership and dedication to fostering an inclusive, safe, and dynamic learning environment makes him the ideal candidate to guide our school into a promising future. We look forward to the innovation and energy Tag will bring to our Wildcat community.”

A Ponca City native, Sean has served as Po-Hi Assistant Principal since 2018. During his tenure as assistant principal, he has assisted administrative teams in operations of the school, met with stakeholders to develop emergency plans for PCPS, worked closely with First Responders and is an ALICE certified trainer for PCPS. He is also the Wildcat Safety Team coordinator.

As a second-generation graduate from Ponca City High School, I have a great amount of respect for its rich history and traditions. I appreciate this opportunity, and I am excited to work with the students and staff.”

Sean served as an English teacher at Po-Hi from 2011-2018 and served in a variety of coaching duties, including varsity offensive line coach and run game coordinator from 2012-2018, strength and conditioning coordinator for football in 2017-2018, and assistant wrestling coach and head junior varsity coach from 2013-2018.

He received many accolades as an athlete at Ponca City High School. He received the Mike Self Leadership Award in football and earned a football scholarship to Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he was named All-Conference Lineman for the Lone Star Conference.

He received his bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2011 and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 2018.
