Subject sought in double homicide in Stroud

STROUD, Okla. – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and Stroud Police Department are investigating a double homicide that occurred in the 500 block of West 10th Street in Stroud, Okla.

Pauletta Pittman, 63, and her husband Mark Pittman, 65, were found deceased in their home this morning.

A coworker of Pauletta’s called Stroud Police at approximately 9:30 this morning when Pauletta didn’t show up for work. Officers conducted a welfare check at the house and discovered the couple. The Stroud Police Department requested the OSBI’s assistance with the investigation.

Right now, investigators are looking for a person of interest in the case – 39-year-old Shawn Pittman. He was living in the home with his parents at the time of their murder and law enforcement have not been able to contact him. Police are also looking for Pauletta’s 2000 Toyota Sienna mini-van with Oklahoma tag BMD 443, which Shawn may be driving.

The OSBI Crime Scene Unit is still processing the scene and a cause of death has not yet been determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
