Student Hit by Vehicle in Newkirk Monday

Monday during lunch a student in Newkirk was struck by a vehicle while using a cross walk near campus. Emergency vehicles responded and the student was then life flighted to Wichita.

Newkirk Public School Superintendent Todd Overstreet in a letter to parent’s, students and staff said there is nothing more important than the safety of the students and though he can’t share details about the accident he asks to keep the student and the family in our thoughts and prayers at this time.

Councelors are available at the school for students who may need assistance and extra support at this time.
