A Putnam City North High School senior has been selected for the U.S. Air Force Recruiting Service’s Aim High Flight Academy for the Summer of 2024.

Eli Batts is one of approximately 100 students nationwide selected for the program and is a student at the Putnam City Schools’ Aviation Program.

The PCS Aviation Program is a unique opportunity for high school students from all three PCS high schools that focuses on allowing students to become pilots, drone operators, aerospace engineers, A&P maintenance specialists, astronauts, and more.

The Aim High Flight Academy is an aviation scholarship for a three-week introductory flight program held at universities around the world.

At this time, Eli does not know which university he will attend for the program.

The academy’s mission is to inform, influence, and inspire the next generation of aviators and leaders.

After completing the academy, students are to understand the pathways to becoming an Air Force Officer, and an aviator, as well as earn up to 15 flight hours.

Eli is said to have a passion for flying and has goals of becoming a professional pilot.
