Stillwater man injured in Payne County accident

A 63-year-old Stillwater man was injured in a Payne County accident about 10:50 a.m. Monday on State Highway 18, about 5 miles north of Cushing.

Michael Owen Taylor was driving a 2005 Dodge pickup. He was transported by Lifenet to Stillwater Medical Center and then transferred to OU Medical Center, where he was admitted in serious condition with head injuries and a medical condition.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Taylor was driving southbound on SH 18 approaching 32nd Street when he had a cardiac event and departed the roadway to the right, striking a fence and coming to rest in the fence. A Trooper said he had a second cardiac event while  the Trooper was on the scene.
