St. Mary’s host fundraiser to fund new playground

St. Mary’s is hoping its fundraiser this Saturday will fund a new playground for the pre-school, and even provide some scholarships. Bonnie Otto is on the committee for this fundraiser and it’s called Fall Fest.

Fall Fest is a live and silent auction.

“For the live auction I do have four, one-day Walt Disney World passes," Otto said. "I do have a Cook Shack smoker, I’ve got some cold ribeye that we’re going to auction off separately, some brisket, so I’ve got a couple meats packages. Then we have some classroom items, each classroom will do a live auction item or a silent auction item, or both so we’ll have some classroom items.”

The silent auction will have things like bowling packages and rounds of golf. The silent auction can be previewed from 3 to 4:30 in Parish Hall on Saturday. Bidding will then begin at 6, with the first table closing at 8:30. The live auction will start at 7:15.

Otto said they will also have what they call the Grub Grab.

"You’ll have the face value of the food gift cards that you will just take and turn in, that way they’re yours<" Otto said. "There’s no bidding on those you just pay face value."

The Grub Grab board will be in the cafeteria and you can start claiming those gift cards at 7. Some of the 50 cards available are to El Patio and Taco Stop.

Otto said they have done this event for a long time and it’s open to anyone.
