Soroptimists Kick Off East Middle School Program

Ponca City Public Schools - October 25, 2022 6:56 am

Soroptimist International of Ponca City kicked off their program with East Middle School entitled “Dream It, Be It.” The program is designed to offer career support for girls to help them grow to be strong, successful, happy adults.
Through small groups and conference settings, Soroptimist International provides girls with access to professional role models, career education and the resources to strive towards a successful life.
Among the topics covered are career opportunities, setting and achieving goals, overcoming obstacles to success and how to move forward with setbacks or failures.
In their first meeting, eighth grade girls from EMS chose a role model and listed role model traits, created a vision board and wrote a letter to their future self. The girls were accompanied by members of the Soroptimist group and their school counselor, Kathy Orr.
