Soroptimist International taking applications for awards

Soroptimist International of Ponca City, an international service organization for business and professional women, is taking applications for the Live Your Dream and Violet Richardson Awards.  Deadline to enter is November 15.

The Live Your Dream Award is given to an adult woman head of household who is going back to school to improve the lives of herself and her family.  This is a first place award by SIPC of $1,000 with the recipient’s application forwarded to the Soroptimist Southcentral Region competition.  Women can enter on-line by going to www.soroptimist.org.  Lesser amounts are awarded to other applicants.

The Violet Richardson Award is a recognition program targeted to young women who make the community and world a better place. The Violet Richardson Award honors young women, between the ages of 14 and 17, for volunteer action.  The recipient receives $250 for herself and $250 for the organization where she volunteers.  An application can be obtained by contacting Robyn Armstrong at the University Center at (580) 718-5606 or [email protected].
