Silvan Zingg, the internationally renowned Boogie Woogie, Blues & Jazz pianist from Lugano, Switzerland will  perform at the Poncan Theater at 104 East Grand in Ponca City on Thursday, July 18.

Silvan was influenced at an early age by American style Blues, Jazz & Boogie music & the the musicians who introduced it like Clarence Smith ( 1927 the first recorded boogie woogie) Pete Johnson, Oscar Peterson, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin and many other Jazz era greats.
Silvan’s piano career began at age 18 when he was invited to the Masters of the Boogie Woogie Night in Charleston, S. Carolina. He quickly became one of the most popular and sought after performers across the globe. His repertoire is extensive and has taken him to over 50 countries performing with legendary musicians like B.B. King, Carlos Santana, Chuck Berry, George Benson, Quincy Jones and a host of others.

Silvan also presents his lectures to students at universities and schools on the Roots of Blues Music.  His high-energy concerts appeals to all ages. You will hear songs from every era and every style, from Classic to Country and Ragtime to Rock.

During Intermission there will be a special unveiling of the Silent Film Stars Series original paintings by Susan Jones. Some of the star portrait paintings will include Clara Bow ( the “it” girl of her day), Maude Fealy , Laurel & Hardy, Charlie Chaplin, Tom Mix , Will Rogers & several others as part of this ” first viewing ” presentation. The paintings  will also be available for purchase.
