SH-11 narrows between US-177 in Blackwell and US-77 for resurfacing, bridge projects

Eastbound and westbound State Highway 11 will be narrowed to one lane with flagmen and pilot vehicles directing traffic between P Street in Blackwell and US-77 in Kay County. The work willl be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily Monday-Friday through early winter 2019 for resurfacing.

Two projects totaling $1.8 million were awarded in June to Evans & Associates Construction Co. Inc.

Additionally, eastbound and westbound SH-11 is narrowed to one lane with a temporary traffic signal over the Chikaskia River between US-177/N. Main Street and O Street/Radio Tower Road in Blackwell for a bridge rehabilitation project through summer 2019. The $5.3 million contract was awarded in May to Gibson & Associates Inc. and will address the Chikaskia River bridge and three overflow bridges.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and expect delays in this area. Speed limit is reduced.
