Several street projects to start on Monday, March 6

Team Radio Marketing Group - March 3, 2017 5:47 pm

A project to mill and overlay several city streets will begin on March 6, 2017.

The City of Ponca City has a contract with Evans and Associates Construction Company to perform the work on Fifth Street, Albany to Brookfield; Fourth Street, Central to Grand; Pioneer Road, Fourteenth to Monument; South Avenue, Twelfth to Fourteenth; and Third Street, Highland to Liberty.

The project will begin this Monday, March 6,  on Fourth Street.  Fourth Street will be closed to traffic between Grand and Central during construction, due to a large area of full depth base patching to be done in the south end of the block.  The base patching and re-surfacing of Fourth is scheduled to be completed on Friday, March 10.

The remaining streets will have the top three to four inches of asphalt removed and then re-laid with new asphalt.  There will be partial lane closures on Fifth Street and resident-only access allowed from limited points on Pioneer Road, South Avenue, and Third Street.

Work on all streets will take place over the next three weeks.  Hand bills will be distributed in affected neighborhoods prior to work beginning on the individual streets.

Questions pertaining to this project may be directed to Mike Lane, Traffic Engineering Manager, at (580) 767-0327.
