Senior Center announces Senior Diner

Ponca City’s Senior Center announced Monday a change is coming with a new Senior Diner serving lunches on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

The goal of the Senior Diner is to provide affordable, nutritious means, as well as increase fellowship and program participation at  the Senior Center.

City Manager  Craig Stephenson announced the new Senior Diner during Monday’s work session of the City Commission.

Stephenson said meals will range in cost from $2 to $4 for area seniors. Reservations are required the day before the meal.

Daily menus will include a wide variety of choices, Stephenson said. For example, on Wednesdays a “Brunch for Lunch” will be offered for $2 per person.

Friday meals will continue to be prepared by Alliance Health and will cost $4 per person.

This week’s menus:

  • Tuesday, Aug. 6: $3 for pizza, salad and ice cream.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 7: $2 for “Brunch for Lunch,” including sausage gravy and biscuits, eggs and juice.
  • Thursday, Aug. 8: $2 for “Eat Lite,” including a chef’s salad and dessert.
  • Friday, Aug. 9: $4 for Alliance Health’s meal of lasagna.
