SEMINOLE, OKLA (KOKH) — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that the department is sending more than $30 million in funding for the Seminole Municipal Authority to provide safe drinking water.
Rural Development Oklahoma State Director Kenneth Corn made the announcement that Seminole would be receiving funding to provide accessible drinking water.
“President Biden is committed not to just providing clean and safe drinking water for rural communities, but also to help fill in the gaps from storm damage that has impacted our state recently,” said Corn. “Rural Development has been a key partner for the President to ensure we are filling in the necessary areas to provide the full effort of the federal government to aid in the ongoing disaster efforts in Oklahoma.”
Of the funding, $4,494,000 will be used for water systems that were damaged in the 2022 tornadoes in Seminole.
