A second person has been taken into custody in connection to last week’s shooting near the Oklahoma County Courthouse, deputies say.

Investigators say the shooting happened at a nearby parking garage, sending two people to the hospital.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office says a 17-year-old turned himself in Tuesday night.

18-year-old Xzavier Samilton was arrested last week and charged with shooting with intent to kill.

Citizens reported hearing close to 10 gunshots around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at a parking garage across the street from the Oklahoma County Courthouse annex building near Hudson Avenue and Robert S. Kerr Avenue. County deputies in the courthouse also heard the gunshots and ran to the parking garage to start the investigation.

“I didn’t hear anybody yelling at all; it was just ‘bam bam bam bam bam bam,’ and then you seen deputies running across there,” said Andrew Waterman, witness. “That’s when I went in to try to get my car.”

Police locked down the Metro Parking garage for the investigation. Shell casings were found near the second floor, but the shooter or shooters were long gone.

“They weren’t letting anybody in or out,” said Chad Trawick, witness. “And by the time we got down here to get across to the parking garage, they had already cordoned everything off.”

“Everybody bounces,” said Aaron Brilbeck, Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office. “They’re going towards their cars and for whatever reason that fight resumed again in the garage.”

Two shooting victims showed up at OU Medical Center a short time later. Bob Mills Sky News 9 flew over what appeared to be a car covered in bullet holes near the emergency room.

“A male adult and a female adult were both shot,” said Brilbeck. “Non-life-threatening injuries. They were able to take themselves to the hospital.”

Police found what appeared to be a third scene near northwest 3rd and Walnut. Authorities said more shell casings were found on the ground.
