School district candidates to file for seats Dec. 2-4

NEWKIRK — Candidates for the Board of Education in seven Kay County School Districts file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2019.

Cheryl Howard, Secretary of the Kay County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4.

The Board of Education positions at stake will be filled at the Annual School Election scheduled April 7, 2020. If three or more candidates file for one office, a Primary School Election will be held on Feb. 11, 2020.

Offices for which Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board Office include the following:

Blackwell School I-45 Office #5 5 year term

Kildare School C-50 Office #2 3 year term

Newkirk School I-125 Office #5 5 year term

Peckham School C-27 Office #3 3 year term

Pioneer Technology V-13 Zone #3 5 year term

Ponca City School I-71 Office #5 5 year term

Tonkawa School I-87 Office #5 5 year term
