A special meeting of the Ponca City Public Schools Board of Education will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the school Administration Building, 612 East Grand Ave.

One item is listed on the agenda for the board’s consideration: To consider and take action on an agreement with Endex Inc. of Tulsa, for monitoring of 17 district fire alarm panels as required by the State of Oklahoma for fire protection.

Endex would install equipment for all 17 fire alarm panels to accommodate the monitoring service.

The installation portion of the agreement was approved by the board previously, but the monitoring fee agreement was not included.

The monitoring fee is $216 per site, per year, for a total of $3,672. The new system will eliminate the need for phone lines costing approximately $190 per site, per month, with two lines required at each site.
