School board to hold special meeting on bond matters

The Ponca City Board of Education will hold a special meeting at noon Thursday, Dec. 3, at the Administration Center, 613 East Grand Ave.

The board will discuss its annual review of existing or consider and take action on the adoption of written policies and procedures for post-issuance compliance. Members also will discuss continuing disclosure obligations.

The board also will receive bids for the $1,360,000 General Obligation Building Bonds for the school district and awrad bonds to the lowest bidder.

Members of the board also will consider and take action on a resolution providing for the issuance of General Obligation Building Bonds in the sum of $1,360,000 by the district, authorized at an election called and held for such purpose, prescribing the form of bonds, providing for registration thereof; providing for levy of an annual tax for the payment of the principal and interest on the bonds, and fixing other details of the issue.

The board also will consider and take action on a resolution designating the general obligation bonds of 2016 as “Qualified Tax-Exempt Obligations,” pursuant to Section 265(b)(3)(B) of the Internal Revenue Cod of 1986.

Finally, the board will consider and take action on a changed schedule of dates, times and location for the 2016 board meetings.
